Applicants Under Chapter 33 (Post 9/11)


The Post 9/11 GI Bill® provides financial support for education and housing to individuals with at least 90 days of aggregate service on or after September 11, 2001, or individuals discharged with a service-connected disability after 30 days.


  1. New applicants complete VA Form 22-1990 online. Print and submit copy to Certifying Official.
  2. Transfer students must complete VA Form 22-1995.
  3. Submit copy of DD214 - Report of Separation noting "honorable" discharge.
  4. Submit copy of Certificate of Eligibility to Certifying Official.

Applicants Under Chapter 30 (Active Duty)


The MGIB program provides up to 36 months of education benefits. This benefit may be used for degree and certificate programs, flight training, apprenticeship/on-the-job training and correspondence courses. Remedial, deficiency, and refresher courses may be approved under certain circumstances. Generally, benefits are payable for 10 years following your release from active duty. This program is also commonly known as Chapter 30.


  1. New applicants complete VA Form 22-1990 online. Print and submit copy to Certifying Official.
  2. Transfer students must complete VA Form 22-1995.
  3. Submit copy of DD214 - Report of Separation noting "honorable" discharge.
  4. Submit copy of Certificate of Eligibility to Certifying Official.


Applicants Under Chapter 1606 (Reserves)


The MGIB-SR program may be available to you if you are a member of the Selected Reserve. The Selected Reserve includes the Army Reserve, Navy Reserve, Air Force Reserve, Marine Corps Reserve and Coast Guard Reserve, and the Army National Guard and the Air National Guard. This benefit may be used for degree and certificate programs, flight training, apprenticeship/on-the-job training and correspondence courses. Remedial, deficiency, and refresher courses may be approved under certain circumstances.


  1. New applicants complete VA Form 22-1990 online. Print and submit copy to Certifying Official.
  2. Transfer students must complete VA Form 22-1995.
  3. Submit copy of DD2384 - Notice of Basic Eligibility (NOBE).
  4. Submit copy of Certificate of Eligibility to Certifying Official.


Applicants Under Chapter 1607 (REAP)


REAP was established as a part of the Ronald W. Reagan National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2005. It is a new Department of Defense education benefit program designed to provide educational assistance to members of the Reserve components called or ordered to active duty in response to a war or national emergency (contingency operation) as declared by the President or Congress.  This new program makes certain reservists who were activated for at least 90 days after September 11, 2001 either eligible for education benefits or eligible for increased benefits.


  1. New applicants complete VA Form 22-1990 online. Print and submit copy to Certifying Official.
  2. Transfer students must complete VA Form 22-1995.
  3. Submit copy of DD2384 – Notice of Basic Eligibility (NOBE).
  4. Submit copy of DD214 – Report of Separation noting "honorable" discharge.

(Dependents) Chapter 33 (Post 9/11) Transfer of Entitlement


The transferability option under the Post-9/11 GI Bill® allows Service members to transfer unused benefits to their spouses or dependent children.

(Dependents) Chapter 35


DEA provides education and training opportunities to eligible dependents of veterans who are permanently and totally disabled due to a service-related condition, or who died while on active duty or as a result of a service related condition. The program offers up to 45 months of education benefits. These benefits may be used for degree and certificate programs, apprenticeship, and on-the-job training. If you are a spouse, you may take a correspondence course. Remedial, deficiency, and refresher courses may be approved under certain circumstances.


  1. New applicants complete the VA Form 22-5490 online. Print and submit copy to Certifying Official.
  2. Transfer students must complete VA Form 22-5495. Submit copy of "Rating Letter" stating veteran is 100% totally and permanently disabled.
  3. Submit copy of Certificate of Eligibility to Certifying Official.


(Dependents) Chapter 33 (Post 9/11) Fry Scholarship


Public Law 111-32, the Marine Gunnery Sergeant John David Fry Scholarship, amends the Post-9/11 GI Bill® (chapter 33) to include the children of service members who die in the line of duty after Sept. 10, 2001. The benefit is effective August 1, 2009; the same day the Post-9/11 GI Bill® takes effect. A child may be married or over 23 and still be eligible.


  1. New applicants complete the VA Form 22-5490 online. Print and submit copy to Certifying Official.
  2. Transfer students must complete VA Form 22-5495.
  3. Submit copy of Certificate of Eligibility to Certifying Official.

Gov. Asa Hutchinson announced Tuesday that he will not renew the statewide mask mandate that expires at midnight tonight; however, school districts, private businesses, and medical facilities may still require patrons to wear masks as a preventative measure against the spread of COVID-19 under the revised guidelines. The University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville will maintain mask use and social distancing protocols on campus through the end of the spring semester. During its meeting on Friday, March 19, 2021, the Chancellor’s Advisory Committee discussed the topic of continuing the mask mandate on campus after the statewide mandate expires March 31. Campus constituents, including representatives from the faculty senate, staff senate, Student Government Association and the cabinet were involved in the discussion. It was agreed that continuing to follow mask use and social distancing protocols was in the best interest of the campus community.

 

On Friday, March 26, 2021, the campus reported its fifth straight week of having zero positive self-reported cases of COVID-19 associated with the campus. Our students, faculty, and staff have shown outstanding diligence in wearing face coverings and social distancing to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The campus community is asked to continue in its diligence to keep members of campus safe and healthy, not only for the benefit of campus but our community as well.
