UACCB's Harvest at the Farm Draws More Than 1,000 Community Members

Posted Date: October 22, 2026

More than 1,000 community members gathered at the University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville (UACCB) on Saturday, October 17, for Harvest at the Farm, a free, family-friendly celebration held at the college’s new Gateway Center.

The event brought together families from across the region for a morning of fall activities, food, and an opportunity to experience the college’s growing agricultural program. Guests enjoyed hayrides, barrel train rides, a petting zoo, antique tractors, children's activities, and complimentary hamburgers and hot dogs.

A highlight of the event was the opportunity to see the work of students enrolled in the Bank of Cave City Farm and Ranch Management program. Students sold pumpkins and mums grown at the UACCB Farm, showcasing the results of their hands-on learning throughout the semester. The event gave visitors a chance to connect with students and learn more about the agricultural education opportunities available at UACCB.

Harvest at the Farm was designed not only as a celebration of the fall season but also as an opportunity to strengthen connections between the college and the surrounding community. The strong turnout reflects the community's enthusiasm for family-friendly events and its continued support of UACCB's educational programs.

“Seeing more than 1,000 people come together for Harvest at the Farm was a wonderful reminder of the connection between UACCB and the communities we serve,” said UACCB Chancellor Brian Shonk. “We are especially proud of our students, who had the opportunity to share the results of their hard work with the community. The tremendous response to this event has encouraged us to make Harvest at the Farm an annual tradition, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back next year.”

UACCB extends its sincere appreciation to the businesses and organizations whose generous support helped make Harvest at the Farm possible.

Special thanks go to Bank of Cave City, the event's Presenting Sponsor, and Merchants and Planters Bank, the Silver Sponsor. Bronze Sponsors included Citizens Bank, White River Health, Bad Boy Mowers, Econo-Mart Pharmacy, Ballistic Specialties, and Arkansas Sheriffs’ Youth Ranches.

The college also thanks the faculty, staff, students, volunteers, and community members who contributed their time and efforts to making the event a success.

Following the overwhelming community response, UACCB is pleased to announce that Harvest at the Farm will become an annual event. The next celebration is already scheduled for Saturday, October 16, 2027. The college will once again welcome families and community members to enjoy fall festivities and experience the work taking place at the UACCB Farm.

With more than 1,000 attendees, the inaugural Harvest at the Farm marks the beginning of a new community tradition, bringing together agricultural education, family activities, and the spirit of the Batesville community.
