CURRENT AVAILABLE POSITIONS

Director of Institutional Research -  the University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville seeks a Director of Institutional Research. The Director of IR conducts statistical and analytical studies that support the academic and administrative functions of the College. The Director compiles and interprets information for enrollment analysis, assessment, planning and budgeting; prepares internal and external reports; assists in providing campus users and the public with timely access to data and information; and serves as liaison to a variety of campus groups.  The Director reports to the Vice Chancellor of Research, Planning and Assessment.  Specific duties include: submits data to comply with ADHE/legislative requests; coordinates the collection and submission of IPEDS data; compiles data to support grant applications; provides data to support reports to accrediting agencies; assists with collection and reporting of assessment data; responsible for compiling data for Factbook and Division data pages; completes on-going and ad hoc data requests; coordinates the administration of CCSSE and other similar surveys; presents data to campus groups, including weekly Data Bits and Bytes; reviews practices and measures of institutional effectiveness and goals.
Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelor's degree from a regionally-accredited college or university in a field related to research or data analysis (such as, but not limited to, statistics, economics, social sciences, or information sciences), with at least six (6) credit hours in statistics or research methods; Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of two years of experience collecting, analyzing and interpreting statistical data in a professional setting. Knowledge of institutional research or higher education reporting requirements preferred.
Experience with data management, including verification of data integrity, data auditing, data extraction, and data cleaning; ability to generate and direct the generation of complex data sets.
Experience working with relational databases (Colleague preferred) and a high level efficiency with SQL and reporting writing software (experience with Microsoft SQL Server Report Builder housed on SQL Server Reporting Services preferred).  Knowledge of applied research methods (quantitative and qualitative); proficiency with statistical analysis and experience with statistical data software such as SPSS; proficiency with survey tools, such as Survey Monkey.  Strong problem solving skills, written and verbal communication skills, presentation skills, especially in regard to presenting data and statistical results to a variety of audiences.  Ability to work independently, attend to multiple projects simultaneously, deliver accurate results and meet deadlines; ability to work in a collaborative environment and interact effectively with different college constituencies preferred.  Salary commensurate with education and experience, with range in mid to high 40s.

Administrative Specialist III - The Administrative Specialist III is responsible for coordinating office activities, researching and preparing special reports, and developing, revising, and recommending administrative policies and procedures as directed by supervisor. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.
Typical Functions :  Researches and analyzes data pertinent to work programs and/or agency/institution goals and objectives and prepares reports explaining findings and recommendations. Assists in developing or revising policies, procedures, and directives based on research findings; submits to supervisor for approval. Compiles financial information used by supervisor to formulate budget proposals and monitors expenditures to ensure optimum operating efficiency. Reviews and answers or prepares correspondence relating to agency/institution programs. Interprets agency administrative directives, policies, and procedures to ensure consistent application. Provides information, assistance, and clarifications to interested parties concerning agency/institution programs, policies, and procedures. Assists supervisor by maintaining leave records, appointment calendar, and prioritizing incoming correspondence. May supervise a small to medium-sized administrative support staff and evaluate the work performance of incumbents. Performs other duties as assigned.  (See Internal Functions below.)
Knowledge, Ability and Skills:  Knowledge of the principles and practices of mathematics and statistics. Knowledge of research and analysis techniques and methods. Knowledge of work-related subject area. Knowledge of computers and software applications. Ability to prepare, present, and review oral and written information and reports. Ability to research and analyze related work program information. Ability to develop, recommend, interpret, and apply policies and procedures. Ability to analyze financial records and prepare reports. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the work of others.
Minimum Qualifications: The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus one year of specialized training in business management, business education, or a related field; plus three years of experience in specialized or a related field applicable to work performed. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management. OTHER JOB RELATED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS, UPON APPROVAL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE.
Internal Functions:  Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters. Manages the front desk and coordinates office activities, as well as assists with applications, hiring documents, forms, and databases; performs data entry as required to initiate and update employee records in the system; audit HR/Benefit reports as needed; order and maintain HR office supplies; and other duties as assigned.
