Job Description

The University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville seeks an Admissions Counselor.  The new Admissions Counselor will be an important part of an exciting Admissions team that provides strategic direction and leadership for the planning, administration, and management of all aspects of UACCB’s campus-wide student recruitment and admissions programs.

This Admissions Counselor position would be funded temporarily with federal funds. A future determination will be made to institutionalize this position.


Duties and Responsibilities: 

Conducts regular visits to targeted high schools recruiting prospective students 

Represents UACCB at college and career days and fairs

Presents programs targeted at the recruitment of returning adult students

Processes documents for prospective students

Assists with the training and supervision of student ambassadors

Maintains regular contact with high school counselors

Provides admissions and career counseling to prospective students

Assists with the coordination of UACCB preview days, conducts campus tours, and performs any aspect of the recruitment and admission of new
  and returning students

This position also requires attendance at various evening recruitment-related activities and events.  Some limited overnight travel is required for recruitment
   and training events and programs

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; the ability to communicate effectively in writing and in public presentation settings; self-starter; highly motivated to recruit both traditional and non-traditional-aged students; and knowledge of and/or experience working with a comprehensive, multifaceted information system. Some travel will be mandatory; therefore, applicants must be able to qualify to drive on state business. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

One to two years of experience in a direct college admissions role

Experience with Colleague or similar student information system

Salary: $30,900 to $31,200 based on level of degree and experience

Submit your Documentation

ALL students must submit high school transcripts, college transcripts, immunization records, and placement scores to be admitted to the University and/or receive financial aid consideration.


UACCB accepts ACT, ASSET, COMPASS, SAT, or Accuplacer scores that are less than 5 years old (calculated from the first day of class of the semester applied for). If you do not have placement test scores, contact our Testing Center at 870-612-2110 to schedule an appointment to take a test.

Gov. Asa Hutchinson announced Tuesday that he will not renew the statewide mask mandate that expires at midnight tonight; however, school districts, private businesses, and medical facilities may still require patrons to wear masks as a preventative measure against the spread of COVID-19 under the revised guidelines. The University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville will maintain mask use and social distancing protocols on campus through the end of the spring semester. During its meeting on Friday, March 19, 2021, the Chancellor’s Advisory Committee discussed the topic of continuing the mask mandate on campus after the statewide mandate expires March 31. Campus constituents, including representatives from the faculty senate, staff senate, Student Government Association and the cabinet were involved in the discussion. It was agreed that continuing to follow mask use and social distancing protocols was in the best interest of the campus community.

 

On Friday, March 26, 2021, the campus reported its fifth straight week of having zero positive self-reported cases of COVID-19 associated with the campus. Our students, faculty, and staff have shown outstanding diligence in wearing face coverings and social distancing to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The campus community is asked to continue in its diligence to keep members of campus safe and healthy, not only for the benefit of campus but our community as well.
