Hours May Be Adjusted Due to Precautionary Measures Being Taken in Response to COVID-19
The Student Success Center is a free tutoring program offered to all UACCB students. Appointments or referrals are not necessary to receive tutoring. Tutoring is provided for all subjects that are offered by UACCB.
The main service provided by the Student Success Center is tutoring on the individual level. Individual tutoring is provided in courses ranging from developmental to advanced courses and help is even available for on-line classes. To be a more successful student, seek help before falling behind in a course.
The Student Success Center is located in Room 216 of the Main Classroom Building and the direct phone number is 870-612-2041. Our extension is 1241. Hours are:
Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. (Student Success Center)
The Row Johns Library is also open Saturdays 10 a.m.-2 p.m. but tutors are not available.

If you need help improving your study skills, here are several links to some helpful information:
The Student Success Center can supply a student with pamphlets and printouts which detail ways to build self-esteem, identify and learn to use one’s learning style and various other self-help works including test anxiety; Hand-outs are also available for math formulas and rules, grammar rules, and preparing an introduction, thesis statement, and conclusion.
Anatomy and Physiology, Biology, and nursing program students have found our human anatomical models to be helpful in their studies. We have a human torso complete with the heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, and reproductive system. We also have a brain, heart, ear, nerve synapse, eyeball, and skeletal system. A microscope is available upon request complete with various slides.
Check out the writing lab!
The UACCB Writing Lab is located in Row Johns Library (pass the copy machine and turn right). The Writing Lab is equipped with computers, a printer, writing guides/manuals, and is staffed many hours of the day by faculty who are there to assist you with your writing assignments. Ms. Ashley Walker is the tutor in the writing lab. The Writing Lab hours of operation are Monday-Thursday, 8:30 a.m.-noon, 1-2:30 p.m. Due to precautionary measures being taken as a result of COVID-19, Ms. Walker may not be in the Writing Lab during regular hours of operation, but papers can be emailed to her at email@example.com; she will edit them with margin comments and email them back to the student. Arrangements may also be made for Writing Lab tutoring sessions in Zoom.
In addition to the Writing Lab, computers and printers for student use are available in the Library and in the Student Success Center. We look forward to seeing you soon and assisting you with all of your writing needs.
