Assistant to the Chancellor

Assistant to the Chancellor: The University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville seeks an Assistant to the Chancellor. This position is a full-time, non-classified, exempt position that oversees and manages all office procedures and other tasks as assigned by the Chancellor.

Responsibilities: Provides general office coordination and maintains confidentiality in all aspects of the position. Conducts research, compiles data and prepares information and data for presentations. Schedules and coordinates meetings; prepare agendas for a variety of meetings; attends various meetings as requested in order to compile, transcribe and distribute minutes of meetings including posting to the intranet; coordinates travel and prepares travel reconciliations. Receives and directs visitors to the office; coordinates calendar to promote consistent work flow and meetings schedules. Answers telephones and takes appropriate action; coordinates the distribution of appropriate correspondence. Files and retrieves organizational documents, records and reports. Utilizes Microsoft Office, Datatel and other software applications to prepare documentation for purchasing, recordkeeping, budget preparation and personnel. This position requires supervising support personnel and volunteers and coordinating special event projects.

Qualifications: Demonstrate excellent communication skills both written and verbal; must be analytical and possess problem-solving skills; requires attention to detail and accuracy. Additional competencies include flexibility, adaptability, teamwork and customer service orientated. Travel and an alternative work schedule are required on occasion.

Requirements: The applicant must have a bachelor’s degree in communication or related degree; plus two years of experience or specialized training in related field. Experience in higher education is desired. An operating knowledge or the ability to learn Datatel or similar student information system is required.
