Administrative Specialist III-Academic Advising

The University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville is seeking applications for the position of full-time Administrative Specialist III in the Academic Advising Center.  The position requires formal education equivalent of a high school diploma.  Additionally, the position requires one year of specialized training in management, education, or a related field; the position also requires at least four years of work experience in a related field.  The position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institutional policy.  The ideal applicant will have experience in an office setting, preferably in higher education.  

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of the knowledge of principles and practices necessary in a professional academic advising setting.  The Administrative Specialist duties within the Academic Advising Center include managing the center by answering phones, setting up appointments for advisors, guiding students to appropriate offices and resources, monitoring advisors’ calendars, and assessing student needs in order to best position advisors to serve students.  This position will report to the Director of Academic Advising, and as such will include assisting the Director in analyzing program information, recommending and applying advising policies and procedures, and preparing statistical information for annual reports.  This position may at times require supervising student workers or other part-time personnel.  The salary for the position is $25,268 annually, and the position includes benefits.
