UACCB Foundation awards summer scholarships

BATESVILLE – The University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville’s Foundation awarded 21, $300 summer scholarships.

"This is the second year the foundation has been able to award summer scholarships," said Tina Paul, Director of Development. "Scholarship opportunities have always been a main goal of the UACCB Foundation and being able to provide summer scholarships is just another way the foundation can support UACCB students as they pursue their educational goals."

During the current academic year, the UACCB Foundation has provided over $40,000 in scholarships and is on pace to award even more in the coming academic year.

Students receiving summer scholarships are Katie Baker, Caitlin Branscum, Mildren Garcia Juarez, Melissa Hood, John Hopkins, Laura Morgado, Anthony Newton, Shanna O'Neal, Elizabeth Robertson, Kellee Robinson, Ann Rodgers, Alesondria Scales, Janell Scribner, Joseph Stagner and Charity Swaim all of Batesville; Monica McDougal of Cave City; Katie Crews of Evening Shade; Kandice Conway of Kensett; Jay Weatherford of Mountain View; Sam Stone of Newark; and Kristan Money of Pleasant Plains.

The deadline to apply for fall/spring scholarships is July 1, 2014. The application can be found on the UACCB website at http://www.uaccb.edu/foundation/scholarships.
