RN Instructor: The University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville seeks a full-time nursing instructor for the traditional on-campus associate of applied science RN program beginning August 2010. Teaching responsibilities include full-time classroom and clinical instruction and evaluation, maintaining regular office hours, serving as a member of RN program and division committees, college committees and fulfilling additional full-time faculty duties as prescribed by UACCB administration. Some in-state travel may be required. Qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess a master’s degree in nursing with experience in teaching medical/surgical nursing in an RN program and clinical practice, an unencumbered Arkansas RN license and be proficient in computer skills. Applicants possessing a bachelor's in nursing will be considered if currently enrolled in a master's in nursing program. Director of Student Support Services: The University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville seeks a director for the Student Support Services (SSS) project.  The position is provisional and funded by a U.S. Department of Education grant.  The grant is funded through August 31, 2015.  The goal of SSS is to increase the college retention and graduation rates of eligible participants (low income or first-generation students or students with disabilities and academic need).  The SSS project will serve 140 students.

Responsibilities: Implement the program in full compliance with all applicable federal regulations and requirements; interview, hire, train, supervise and evaluate SSS staff; oversee the recruitment and selection of project participants by evaluating student applications for eligibility and level of academic need; oversee the administration of assessment instruments; oversee Grant Aid program; oversee participant record-keeping to ensure compliance, confidentiality and privacy; authorize expenditures and monitor the budget; compile and submit all required reports; coordinate program evaluation; and carry a caseload of 20 students.  The director will report to the vice chancellor for enrollment management and student services.
Minimum Requirements: master's degree in educational administration, counseling, educational leadership, student personnel or related field.  Three years of experience and/or training in education or counseling, two years of experience in program management or administration, and two years experience in supervising staff and managing budgets.  Preferred qualifications include two years of experience working with SSS or other TRIO programs; demonstrated experience in personal counseling, academic advising, tutoring and mentoring; and a background similar to the project participants.  Candidates who have been successful in overcoming barriers similar to SSS-eligible students are strongly encouraged to apply.

Project Advisors for Student Support Services (two positions): The University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville seeks two advisors for the Student Support Services (SSS) project.  The positions are provisional and funded by a U.S. Department of Education grant.  The grant is funded through August 31, 2015.  The goal of SSS is to increase the college retention and graduation rates of eligible participants (low income or first-generation students or students with disabilities and academic need).  The SSS project will serve 140 students.

Responsibilities: Both advisors will maintain a caseload of 60 students; advise students regarding academic, financial and transfer issues; participate in recruitment and selection of students; administer diagnostic tools and analyze data to determine needs of individual students; keep and update individual academic plans.  One advisor will have a professional development emphasis and will provide career counseling; coordinate mentoring, job shadowing and workshops; and manage SSS Blackboard and Facebook sites.  One advisor will have an academic support emphasis and will coordinate SSS tutoring services, the summer transition seminar and college visits and cultural events.
Minimum Requirements: master's degree in educational administration, counseling, educational leadership, student personnel or related field.  Two years of experience in counseling, advising, education or teaching in basic skills (developmental, GED, or ESL).  Preferred qualifications include at least one year of experience working with college-age students; knowledge of proposed activities and services such as advising, counseling, assessment, career development, tutoring and financial aid; experience in supervising student staff; and a background similar to the project participants.  Candidates who have been successful in overcoming barriers similar to SSS-eligible students are strongly encouraged to apply.
