Advising

Academic advisors offer guidance to students about academic and related issues while they are in college. UACCB has a holistic approach to academic advising. All advisors assist students with the following:

  • Encouraging students to be responsible for their decisions, success and progress
  • Choosing appropriate courses each semester that will meet the student's degree requirements
  • Dropping and adding classes
  • Discuss transfer requirements
  • Provide information about campus services and resources
  • Help the student to set realistic goals

Students are assigned an academic advisor during the admissions process. Students with 12 or more college credits will be assigned to an academic advisor in the program area most closely related to a student's major field of study.

Students must meet with their advisor every semester prior to registration in order to be advised of appropriate classes in the degree area they are working towards.
