What is the GED test?

The General Educational Development test is a battery of tests designed to measure skills generally mastered during four years of high school. The subject areas of the test are writing skills, social studies, science, language arts, reading, and math.

Once a week. Students must pre-register.

Who is eligible to take the GED?

Anyone 18 years of age or older. Students who are 16 or 17 years of age must see director, Nancy Whitmire for requirements.

There is no charge for the tests or classes.

How do you register for the GED?

Applicants for the GED must register in person. Registration & enrollment Mon-Thurs 8-12 noon or afternoons by appointment only. Tues.- Thurs. night 5:30-8:30 p.m.

The entire test will take approximately 8 hours.

Yes, calculators may be used on part of the test.

A standard score of no lower than 410 on any individual test and a total score of 2250 are considered passing in AR

If I don’t pass the GED, can I retake it?

Yes, you may retake individual sections of the test, but you must complete the entire test before any individual section may be retaken. If you score below 410 in any section, you may retake that section. Retest application has testing requirements listed.

Can score reports be requested at a later date?

Yes, you can request your transcript from Little Rock.

Are accommodations made for disabilities, when taking the GED test?

Yes. If you have a learning, physical or emotional disability, then you may request special accommodations. You will need to submit extensive documentation from licensed professional.

The GED practice test is a battery of five test designed o measure skills generally mastered during four years of high school.

The test covers writing skills, social studies, science, language arts, reading and math.

Where do I take the assessment test? Is it possible to take the assessment test online or do I have to come to campus?

You can take the test in the AE building. No, nothing available online except class work. There are 117 lessons of class work available online, but you must take the assessment tests and actual GED test in person here on our campus.
