BATESVILLE - The University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville is hosting a preview exhibition of works created by the artisans participating in this year’s 9th Annual Off the Beaten Path Studio Tour.
Starting Monday and continuing through Sept. 14, 2010 selections by 17 of the more than 40 studio tour artists will be on view in the Roy Row, Sr., and Imogene Row Johns Library and Academic Building, which is located on the east side of UACCB. The exhibition includes paintings, photography, weavings, a hand crafted broom and mixed media works incorporating clay, metal and wood. The public is invited to view the exhibit from 8am to 8pm Monday through Thursday and 8am to noon on Fridays.
Everyone is invited to attend the closing reception hosted by Citizen's Bank on Sept. 14, 2010 at 5pm. Many of the artists will be available during the reception and for that one night, additional 3-dimensional works will be on display.
The 9th Annual Off the Beaten Path Studio Tour will be held the weekend of Sept. 17-19, 2010. It is a free self-guided driving tour of artists' studios in and around Mountain View, Calico Rock, Pineville, Leslie and Fox.
A preview copy of the 2010 Guide to Artists Studios is on view at the exhibit and individual copies will be made available at the closing reception. The guide will be available at the Chamber of Commerce and MorningSide Coffee House in Batesville on Sept. 1, 2010. The 36 page guide allows visitors to choose the artists, media and locations that most pique their interests, then enjoy meeting creative people in their private spaces, while discovering the back roads of the Ozarks. Artists' work will be for sale at their studios. For more information on the studio tour, visit www.offthebeatenpathstudiotour.com.
