Allison EvansBATESVILLE - Allison Evans has been hired as a part time testing assistant for the newly established Testing Center at the University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville.

"Thanks to a grant from the Department of Workforce Services, UACCB was able to purchase equipment to create a multi-purpose testing center," said Louise Hughes, director of student development. "With the increased testing services offered and the increase in enrollment, the testing center was much needed. The next step, of course, was to find someone to help provide testing services. Evans will assist with various exams on campus, including placement exams (ASSET, Compass), CLEP exams, Work Keys assessments for Career Pathways, nursing entrance exams, TABE, GED exams, and faculty make-up exams for students. As you can imagine, she will be busy!  We are excited to have her as part of our staff."

Evans holds a bachelor's degree in secondary education from Arkansas State University and is currently working toward a master's degree in curriculum. Having taught high school social studies for 10 years, she said, "I have been involved in many high school testing sessions, including Advanced Placement, ACT, and End of Course for various subjects. I have wanted to work at the college level for several years. I just love the atmosphere of a two-year college. UACCB has such a wonderful variety of students!"

Originally from Batesville, Evans had moved away for a number of years before returning to marry and have a family. She and her husband, Wesley, who is employed with White River Medical Center, have two sons. Evans is also a member of the Junior Auxiliary of Independence County and the Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church.
